Today when we stepped in the mud we said, "It feels good!" (Kimochii).



One of our students found gyojya ninniku by the river bank. It is really fun looking for edible mountain plants (sansai).

Fukinoto Miso

Today we picked fukinoto and made fukinoto miso. Our students found some big plants by the river that were not open yet...perfect for our miso recipe.

Here is our one year old student enjoying fukinoto miso. When she was leaving to go home she said, "oishiikatta".

She was right. It was delicious!

Roasting Marshmallows

Roasting marshmallows over a campfire is very popular in English speaking countries. Roasted marshmallows are sweet and sticky and they taste good!
I like lightly roasting mine like the one you see in the picture.
I enjoyed roasting and eating marshmallows with everyone today!

イースターの卵

週末はイースターを祝って、卵に色を塗りました。

西洋ではイースター（復活祭）はクリスマスと並んで大きなイベントです。

卵に色を塗り、それを隠して探したりします。

子供達は隠されたチョコレート探しでおおはしゃぎしていました。

卵に色を塗る祭は、もちろん茹でてからですよ。

生卵だと落としたリスクが大きいですからね。

Spring

It sure doesn't seem like the second day of spring when it is snowing outside!
But it must be spring because the first baby dosanko horse of 2010 was born five days ago. It's a girl! We fed the mother carrots. She looks very happy in this photo. Don't you think so?

林道を行く

今日は皆で林道を歩きました。

清流の音を聞きながら、子どもも大人も雪が積もった森の中を探索しました。

アカゲラの穴、白樺の皮、キノコにフクロウの穴。。。

森の中には不思議が一杯詰まっています。

子供達は雪の中で遊んだり、雪合戦をしたり。

1時間ほどたっぷりと歩きました。

It's Warm and Sunny Today!

We went on a nice walk in the snow and saw a white wagtail bird (hakusekirei) and more pussy willows (nekoyanagi) on the willow trees.
Spring is coming!
